There are two audio-only recordings of young Adam singing in the musicals "Hair" and "Brigadoon" which are highly treasured by his fans. These recordings highlight his classical training and vocal technique, as well as his ability to adapt his voice to the role (e.g. Margaret Mead's "My Conviction" from "Hair") which explains his current expansion into animated features voice roles.
"Is Anybody Listening" - Young Adam In A Musical Role
Adam started his career as a musical theatre performer. One of the few pre-Idol professional recordings (available on DVD) is from the musical "The Ten Commandments" starring Val Kilmer as Moses. Critics panned the play, but praised Adam's performance.
